Great First Email Response To Buyer Leads From Your Real Estate Website

Update 9/24/2010: As noted by Chris of TechSavvyAgent the word MLS shouldn’t be used since it is an industry term buyers won’t understand. So I changed it to ‘our region’s Property Listing Database’ to still reflect the fact that the buyer is signed up to All Access listing updates

Here is the first email that you should send you buyer leads when they sign up for listings on your website. Usually this means they have signed up on your IDX system and will begin receiving new listing alerts or some kind of automated updates from you.

(Subject Line) Hello

Hi,

Thanks for signing up to our new listing email updates at ‘YOURSITE.COM’. The information that you requested will be sent to you every 24 hours as our region’s Property Listing Database is updated.

In the meantime, I realize that you are currently in the information gathering stage and may not be ready to “open up” about who you are or what your needs are at this time. Be assured this is perfectly okay, and that my staff and I will completely respect your online privacy.

Also, keep in mind that my ability to help you is dependent upon understanding your particular needs and wants with respect to finding a home. So when you are ready to explore your real estate needs further, I will be happy to assist you.

Have a great day, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Thanks for checking this out Chris and also pointing that out about the MLS term. I agree with you 100% and I updated the post to reflect the change.

I like everything but the use of the term MLS. Most consumers have no idea what the MLS is so maybe dumb it down and say as new homes hit the market etc… Just a thought love what you are doing Josh.
