Step 7: Social Media Marketing Implementation

Home / Member Training Center / 14 Point Step By Step Marketing Plan / Step 7: Social Media Marketing Implementation

*IMPORTANT UPDATE*

The training program has been updated. To view the new training program then check out this link found here. Everything you will learn in this section with the old training program is still applicable but it’s best to follow our new format as the online marketing landscape has changed a little.

There are two specific areas to learn to fully maximize your social media marketing. The first is in understanding how Facebook works with their Edgerank system to determine when your postings up appear on peoples newsfeeds. The second is in understanding how your social media marketing affects your SEO (essentially, at this point in the training after following steps 1-6 then your social media marketing will do the SEO for your website).

It is important to fully understand these systems so that when you get to the content marketing and great content phase of the training center you can actually focus on solely creating great content instead of learning “how will it work in FB and Google.”  Both of these subjects were covered in full depth on separate webinars.

After you learn both of these areas then follow the final section below which shows you how to kick start your SEO/Social-Media efforts with your content and then your daily checklist of tasks you should be doing with your online content as you post them.

How Facebook’s EdgeRank System Works

In this Webinar we will cover Facebook marketing with a specific emphasis on the process they use to determine how and when your posts will appear on someones news feed. This is known as their ‘EdgeRank’ system. You first must understand how to get your posts appearing in as many peoples news feeds as possible, so that is the first concept we are tackling.

Daily Social Media Marketing For Every Blog Post You Do

These are the tasks that will be added to your daily marketing plan for every blog post you create.

*Only do these for the unique blog posts you do through your WordPress panel. Don’t do these for the Posterous blog posts you do through Posterous itself.

  • Google +1 Your New Blog Posts
  • Facebook Like Button OR Facebook Comment Your New Posts
  • Share Your New Posts On Your Facebook Page
  • Share Your New Posts On Google+
  • Tweet Your New Posts
  • LinkedIn Share Your New Posts
  • StumbleUpon Your New Posts
  • Digg Your New Posts
  • Posterous Your New Posts – *Do not resend it to your website though since it is already there.

*If you are using Onlywire as you setup and learned in Section 2c of the training center, several of these will be done for you. Either way, I still recommend you manually do the items listed above.

Weekly Social Media Marketing Tasks You Should Also Do

Throughout the week you will be involved in many social media activities that you would also want to give additional SEO value to by using StumbleUpon and the Google +1 Button on.
